The Warriors suffered their second straight narrow loss in the weekend going down 24-18 to the Knights in Newcastle on Saturday night. The Warriors looked to have the game wrapped up when Nathan Fien scored under the posts in the 52nd minute to stretch their lead out to 18-6. Rather than kick on, the Warriors seemed to tired and the Knights buoyed by their home crowd stormed back into the contest with two tries to Kurt Gidley before Adam McDougall crossed in the 78th minute to complete an unlikely comeback.

Warriors coach Ivan Cleary said his side stopped playing footy in the second half, "We just stopped playing footy I think, we didn't put enough pressure on with the ball and they just had nothing to lose coming back like that".

The loss drops the Warriors down into the middle of  NRL table tied with four other teams on 10 points. They are back at home to take on the resurgent Tigers winners of four on the trot this Sunday afternoon.
