On Thursday September 13th 2007 Lion Red turned 100 years old!
Lion Red, the quintessential kiwi beer, began life as the Pale Ale from the Great Northern Brewery, the year was 1907 – a great year for beer; an even better one for patrons. Over the last century, Lion Red has become a favourite for celebrating our successes and like any good kiwi, values good mates and good times.
“Lion Red is an iconic NZ brand and as a celebration of this history we want to gather a collection of memorabilia which shows just how much Lion Red means to kiwis!” says Russell King, Lion Red Marketing Manager.
All up, Lion Red is a kiwi classic. It marks the measure of our thirst for getting things done, working hard and having a great time doing it.
In recognition of 100 great years Lion Red are calling for all New Zealanders to send in any information they may have on Lion Red including photos, anecdotes, personal stories, photos, old memorabilia and merchandise, the list goes on. You name it, we want it.
